Plumbing Tip #29: How do I unclog a drain if using a plunger does not work?
If you have tried unclogging your drain with a plunger and it does not work, try this. Pour half a cup of baking soda and vinegar into the clogged drain and cover it tightly. After about two minutes, rinse the drain with a bucket of boiling water. You should do this regularly to keep particles from building up over a period of time. Baking soda and vinegar react with each other to create bubbles and fizzing. This mixture can dislodge dirt and other sediments. However, if this does not work, you need to use something stronger like a chemical drain cleaner.
