Plumbing Tip #46: How do you install a faucet outdoors?
First of all, you need to know where your water pipes are running outside. If the area that you have chosen to install the new faucet is far away from the pipe, then you need to extend and add an additional pipe to the area where you intend to install the faucet. Measure the distance between the existing pipe and the new faucet to determine the length of the pipe. Once you have bought the new pipe, switch off the main water supply and saw off the existing pipe. Insert a T-joint to connect the old pipes and the new pipe together. Join the pipes together and connect the new faucet into the end of the new pipe. Tighten the coupling nuts and switch on the water supply again.
