The rules are simple. To prevent your kitchen drain from getting clogged simply never pour materials that harden into the kitchen drain. Using a strainer also helps. Every once in a while, it is a good practice to run hot water in your kitchen sink as this will help loosen grease and other materials that may be stuck to the sides. Also do not wash coffee or tea grounds in the sink and remember to use chemical cleaners sparingly as these could also damage and corrode your drains. Coffee and tea grounds, bits of food and grease should be disposed off with the garbage and not down the kitchen sink.
